Who can resist a pretty tote? They’re versatile, trendy and a staple accessory. From meetings to drinks with the besties to dinner parties to running errands, there’s a bag for every occasion. But what essentials (other than your wallet, phone and keys) should you have in your purse? Here are our top 6 items we absolutely can’t live without.

Lip Balm

The key to chap-free lips is a good lip balm. Never leave home without one, especially when your office air conditioning contributes to parched skin. If you like a hint of colour, opt for one with a tint for a supple, subtle pout.

Made last minute plans for happy hour? Stash a lippie in a deep hue, like berry or red, to instantly take your outfit from day to night. It’ll add a little oomph to the whole look!

Hand Cream

If you have dry skin, have a small tube handy to avoid any flakiness. Moisturize, moisturize, because dry skin is a total no-no.

Blotting Paper

With the humid weather on our paradise isle, we’re always prone to oily skin, particularly on our T-zone. Don’t try to get rid of it with tissue—it’ll wipe away the foundation you spent perfecting. Instead, chose to carry a pack of blotting papers. They’ll effectively blot away the excess oil and shine.

Grabbing a sample-sized version of your favourite perfume isn’t a bad idea. You’ll smell and feel fresh in between your appointments. Dab a little on your pulse points (throat, wrist or inner elbow) for an instant boost.

Bottle Of Water

As you run from the boardroom to lunch to your kid’s swimming classes, it’s easy to forget to drink water. It’s vital you remain hydrated to avoid headaches and other ailments, so carry a bottle of some good ol’ H2O.

What’s in your bag? We’d love to know! Leave a comment below.
