This gal has it right!
As 2016 comes to a close, we turn to Kaley Cuoco to get us through the tough times because, man, does the lady hit the nail right on the head.
On getting over life dips: “This whole last year has been so sucky that I actually was looking forward to turning 30 and just having a brand-new year. Everything had to change.” Kaley knows better than anyone that when things go wrong, they go wrong all together. You just have to buckle down, see the ride through, and hail 2017 as a year of massive change for the better.
On how a break-up feels: “It’s like losing someone…All of a sudden, the sadness hits me out of nowhere. It’s a loss of hope, it’s just…it’s a loss of hope.” A relationship ending isn’t just a status update — you lose the person you’ve been the closest to in a long while. Getting over that isn’t just a matter of cutting it loose. You need to grieve the loss before you can move on.
On not needing a husband to be a wife: “I’m a wife to my girlfriends. I’m a really good wife…no matter what. I do not have to have the name to be a wife.” Sure, it’s great to imagine your big, fat wedding that will take place sometime in the future, but there’s no reason to pine after it. You’re playing that same ‘wife’ role with your besties right now, so why not enjoy it while you can?
On dealing with curve-balls: “I thought I’d have a baby by now! You see your life going one way, and then it’s the direct opposite way. I’m waking up going, Oh my god, my life just flipped upside down….I’m like, What the heck is happening?…It’s really weird.” For all that planning and more planning, life just moves the wrong way. It’s usually a sign that you need to let go of the controls for a bit: your plans got too overwhelming and life was like, “Screw it!” Throw it all up in the air and see how things fall. We guarantee, it’ll surprise you.
On growing up: “I’m accepting that I don’t know sh!t. All these new feelings and emotions are hitting me, and I never thought that I would be this way….It’s getting better though. The wine is helping. I’m telling you, wine will help any sort of misery — I learned that really fast.” If you needed any more proof that Kaley is the best girlfriend in the world, these wine comments prove it! (Where’s my rosé?) But really…while the term ‘growing up’ can be quite daunting, it just means accepting who you are, allowing yourself patience, and knowing you’ll reach who you’re supposed to be when you go through experiences you never planned.
