Trust the cycle
As humans, we have tendencies to hold on to habits, beliefs and ideologies even when they’re bad for us. Notwithstanding, there comes a time in life when you have to let go of things to be a better person. You may not see them as baggage, but letting go will push you forward. That’s why you need to drop them now, and embrace the coming year with newness! Here are things to let go of before the year ends:
Let go of friends that don’t put effort in your relationship. It doesn’t have to end with a fight or quarrel, just let go of the energy you spend on them that never gets reciprocated and be at peace with them. Don’t stop loving them, just accept them as they are, and watch as you meet new caring friends.
Let go of anger towards people who hurt you. Forgive them, and move on. You’ll feel fresher that way.
Let go of the idea that you must be right all the time. You’re human and you make mistakes sometimes. Own up to your mistakes, and apologize when you have to.
Let go of the belief that it’s too late to start the career that you actually want. That’s a drag. In fact, it’s never too late.
Let go of the pressure you put on yourself to be perfect. Embrace your flaws, embrace your screw-ups, embrace all the reasons why you are not perfect and figure out the numerous ways that they actually make you stronger.
Let go of bitterness over tiny things: Noisy neighbours, unbearable colleagues, don’t let little things eat you up.
Let go of wasting money on things you don’t need.
Let go of mediocrity: Don’t settle for ordinary, and let go of any tendency not to give in your best…Try to stand out in all you do, and work towards greatness. It doesn’t mean you have to be the best, but you have to at least aim for it.
Let go of people who make you feel like you have to change in order to be loved by them. You’ll do better without them.
