Sober Up Your Skin

For the mornings you don’t feel so turnt.

The morning after the night before brings with it a bi*ch of a hangover. Every part of your body hates you, you hate yourself and your complexion pretty much looks like you’re on death’s door. Been there? Samesies! So from one Cosmo girl to the next, here are some no-fail steps that will take you from that dull skinned shell-of-a-human back to your fully (well, at least for the most part) functioning rosy-cheeked self.

Last night’s ten  (give or take) rum-and-cokes have left your skin (and body in general) dehydrated AF. So chug on that h20 like your life depends on it. If you feel really worse for wear, add in a few glasses of Jeevani or thambili for a much needed electrolyte boost (and pop a Panadol while you’re at it).

You’re forgiven if you collapsed into bed without a second thought to the layers of foundation and mascara still remaining (surprisingly) intact on your face. Come morning however, that leftover gunk really has to go (and no, wipes will not suffice!).  Start by using make-up remover to get rid of any residue from your face and eyes. Then use an exfoliator to really deep clean your pores and get that dirt off your face.

Face looking super drawn and dry? We feel you. A face mask can go a long way in making your skin feel less dull. (The dullness is also a result of your alcohol-induced dehydration.) Opt for a hydrating and cooling face mask that will not only give your skin some much needed TLC, but also restore moisture, taking away the worn look that feels like it’s here to stay.

Keep some cucumbers in the fridge for a few hours. Place them over your eyes for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The antioxidants in the cucumber help to de-puff eyes and refresh them at the same time.

The last thing you’d want to do? Probably. But working out seriously gets your circulation going again, and will help sweat out all the toxins you accumulated. The greyish tinge on your skin will disappear and you’ll feel heaps better after!

What do you think ?
