Amy Schumer Just Smacked Down Body-Shamers Yet Again

Take that!

For some insane, completely inexplicable reason, a strange section of the internet still thinks it’s okay to shame women for how they look. For even more bizarre reasons, they think it’s especially okay to shame Amy Schumer, despite the fact that every time they do it, she smacks them down with a burn that should last for YEARS, at the very least.

But it keeps happening. No matter how many times she explains that, erm, she really doesn’t give a f**k about what you think of her body, so you should really just shhhhh already, these people just can’t resist poking Amy with an imaginary internet stick.

Thank you @vanityfair and Annie Leibovitz who I had to beg to take this shot

So, yes. It happened again. Someone took a photo of Amy standing in the sea in a swimming costume (unposed, relaxed, and mid-step, may we add), and people on the internet were d***s about her body.

This is dreadful.

The good news? Amy Schumer is brilliant, and she knows exactly how to handle this kind of nonsense.

She shared the photo on her own Instagram (effectively taking away an unflattering photo’s power entirely), along with a caption breaking down why body-shamers should be deeply, deeply ashamed of themselves. Seriously.

This should make anyone who’s ever posted a mean comment online feel really bad about their actions.

“I meant to write ‘good morning trolls!'” wrote Amy. “I hope you find some joy in your lives today in a human interaction and not just in writing unkind things to a stranger you’ve never met who triggers something in you that makes you feel powerless and alone.”

She then went on to remind everyone – yet again – that she is perfectly content with how she looks. So back the eff off and leave her to her life.  “This is how I look,” wrote Amy. “I feel happy. I think I look strong and healthy and also like miss trunchbull from Matilda. Kisses!”
